Over time, I’ve had to deal with self-confidence. Right now I’m preparing to do an acting presentation on Othello. The hardest part, as I study Othello’s psyche and collapse, is that I realize Iago had nothing to do with his demise. Ultimately, Othello decides within himself that he is not worth loving, so Desdemonia’s love for him must be counterfeit. How flawed is this! I think back to a girl in middleschool that “could not see how anyone could like her.” How flawed is this!
and now, with the love of my life,
“she had eyes, and chose me.”
